Governor Pat Quinn Pushing for Residents to Get Higher Education

The Illinois Board of higher Education encourages the locals to earn postsecondary credentials because 140,000 high-skilled recruitments go vacant in Illinois each year. The state governor Pat Quinn demands 60 percent of the population to acquire a post-secondary degree by the end of 2025. However, the state funding is still declining which leaves the university officials in a worry. The huge growth in post-secondary education after the World War II observed in the United States is now nowhere to be seen. Following World War, the United States saw massive growth in postsecondary education. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development has ranked U.S the lowest in the survey on students whose parents do not have a post-secondary degree and they still pursue higher education. According to the report, the U.S. holds 14th position in the world in the percentage of 25 to 34-year-olds having advanced education.
